Though the term barefoot shoes may not make sense at first, this is the only appropriate way of describing how it feels to wear this type of footwear. The design of the shoe is intended to give the impression that the person wearing it is not wearing any shoes at all. This is by far the most minimalistic type of footwear available.
However, you should not let this fool you. The philosophy of this footwear is complicated and the technology extremely advanced. Most of them, although they look very simple, they are more technical than any regular type of walking or running shoe.
The same way in which the foot is a complicated and sensitive part of the body, the shoe that covers it and supports it, is no doubt as complex. All these joints, bones and muscles that make up the foot, need to be adequately protected and supported. No simply designed and manufactured shoe could ever achieve this. Besides, for the body to be supported properly, the feet need to experience no problems. For when the feet become problematic in their function, the whole body is not properly sustained.
As many studies have shown, walking barefoot helps a person distribute his weight better. This happens because the ball and heel of the foot become more solid, as they are in contact with the ground. The toes spread out more adequately and the whole foot becomes wider, giving the body a more stable basis. However, when people wear shoes, then the feet tend to become narrower, trying to take the shape of the shoe they are in. This makes the overall basis that they offer the body narrower, which can cause problems when walking or running.
For this reason, the advantages of walking with no footwear on are noteworthy. The foot experiences fewer injuries, the ankles become stronger and the body?s balance is greatly improved. Also, the known problem of the appearance of varicose veins can be prevented when running barefoot, as the overall circulation significantly improves.
However, if you think that getting your feet dirty, or experiencing the pain that comes with walking with no shoes on, is something you could do without, then there is a solution. Some feet are overly sensitive and walking with nothing on can cause a lot of discomfort, which will make the experience of running very uncomfortable, unless you are walking on the beach. For those people, perhaps this ground breaking footwear is the answer.
As they offer all the advantages that walking with no shoes on is known to give, but still keep the feet warm and safe from injuries, barefoot shoes seem to have achieved the perfect balance. Simple and discreet, soft and warm, this type of footwear allows you to have the best of both worlds. They come in many different styles and colors, for you to choose the one that best suits you.
