2012 U.S. Olympic Triathlon Team qualifiers Laura Bennett and Manuel Huerta highlight a field of more than 70 international athletes set to compete Saturday at the Dallas ITU Pan American Cup.

The draft-legal Olympic-distance race (1,500-meter swim, 40-kilometer bike, 10-kilometer run) will feature nearly 40 Americans competing on their home soil. The women will race at noon, followed by the men at 2:45 p.m.

On the women?s side, Bennett (Boulder, Colo.) returns to ITU action for the first time since recording her first career World Triathlon Series podium finish and punching her ticket to London at the May 11 ITU World Triathlon San Diego. She swam collegiately in the Dallas area at Southern Methodist University.

Additionally, 2011 USA Triathlon Rookie of the Year Kelly Whitley (Colorado Springs, Colo.) of the Elite Triathlon Academy and 2011 USA Triathlon Under-23 Athlete of the Year Kaitlin Shiver (Melbourne, Fla.) are slated to race after making their ITU World Triathlon Series debuts in San Diego.

On the men?s side, Huerta (Miami, Fla.) will race for the first time since qualifying for the London Games with a ninth-place finish at the May 12 ITU World Triathlon San Diego. Joining Huerta in the men?s field is Kevin Collington (Orlando, Fla.), who owns a pair of top-five Pan American Cup finishes in 2012, and USA Triathlon Project 2016 program member Joe Maloy (Wildwood Crest, N.J.)

Reigning ITU Junior World Champion Lukas Verzbicas (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Elite Triathlon Academy teammates Kevin McDowell (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Ryan Bice (Colorado Springs, Colo.) also will compete.

A handful of athletes with Dallas-area ties are slated to compete, including 2012 Elite Duathlon National Champion D?Ann Arthur (Dallas, Texas), the husband-and-wife tandem of Barrett and Lauren Brandon (Fort Worth, Texas) and rising star William Huffman (Colleyville, Texas).

In addition to the ITU Pan American Cup, Dallas also hosts the PlayTri Youth F1 (ages 12-16) and Elite Development Races (ages 16-23) Saturday morning. These sprint-distance events are designed to provide top up-and-coming triathletes with draft-legal racing experience. Action begins at 7 a.m. with the women?s Elite Development Race.

Leicester?s public enjoyed a host of smells and tastes to delight and tantalise last weekend, as Leicester Market hosted another successful Summer Food and Drink Festival.

Taking place on Sunday 27th May, the annual event showcased delicacies from around the world in its third year since being established. Around 200 stalls sold drinks, meals and a variety of ingredients, giving shoppers something different to sample.

With the sun shining, the atmosphere was perfect, as professional chefs showcased their culinary skills to the city public, including Entropy?s Tom Cockerill.

In addition, local brewery Everards showcased some of their summer tastes, including a brand new ale brewed in celebration of the Queen?s Diamond Jubilee.

Joe Harkin, Leicester Market?s Development Manager, was understandably delighted with the outcome from the third Summer Food and Drink Festival, saying:

?The day was a great success. It was fantastic to have so many traders offering such a widespread variety of food and drink from across the globe to shoppers; with the weather proving perfect for the festival?s theme.

Negotiates settlement of claims up to designated authority level.

Calculates and assigns timely and appropriate reserves to claims; monitors reserve adequacy throughout the life of the claim.

Calculates and pays benefits due; approves and makes timely claim payments and adjustments; and settles claims within designated authority level.

Prepares necessary state filings within statutory limits.

Manages the litigation process; ensures timely and cost effective claims resolution.

Coordinates vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.

Uses appropriate cost containment techniques including strategic vendor partnerships to reduce overall cost of claims for our clients.

Manages claim recoveries, including but not limited to subrogation, Second Injury Fund recoveries and Social Security offsets.

Reports claims to the excess carrier; responds to requests of directions in a professional and timely manner.

Communicates claim activity and processing with the ill or injured party and the client; maintains professional client relationships.

Ensures claim files are properly documented and claims coding is correct.

Refers cases as appropriate to supervisor and management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing:

If predictions come true, towns and cities will soon be teeming with digital annotations floating over landmarks, businesses and people. You will need AR glasses to see them, but they are likely to be as commonplace as cellphones.

Visions of this future promoted by the likes of Google, which is launching a pair of AR glasses this year, tend to have a clean, corporate gloss. Good luck to them: as AR becomes common, everyday people will want to add their own comments, images and videos. Some have already begun to use smartphone apps to tag "digital graffiti" onto the physical world (see "Reality respray: The hidden digital world uncloaked"). Some of these offerings are useful; others are aesthetic, trivial or personal. Many are angry, subversive or offensive. In other words, all the virtues and vices of the social web are being daubed onto the physical world, with interesting and challenging consequences.

Consider the implications for business. Today an anti-capitalist would be arrested for scribbling a slogan on the wall of a McDonald's, but they are free to draw it digitally. Disgruntled customers could plaster company buildings with complaints; hacktivists could digitally "occupy" the corporate headquarters of their targets.

Equally, an extremist could post slogans on a graveyard or government building, or a protester might decide to reveal the location of an animal-testing lab. Individuals are not immune - people could be digitally tagged without their knowledge. The tag could be a compliment. Equally possibly it could be an insult or embarrassing photo. Judges for the Miss USA 2012 pageant have been announced and all I can say is it is a very interesting list. Yep there are names you wouldn?t necessarily expect to be judging the show. The infamous pageant run by Donald Trump has chosen Rob Kardashian, Joe Jonas, Fashion Police co-host George Kotsiopoulos and former Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky. I told you the names were not people you would normally expect and I have to wonder where in the world did the powers that be that run the pageant come up with these judges. I totally get George and Ali but Rob and Joe are kind of random if you ask me. Jonas, Kardashian, Fedotowsky and Kotsiopoulos will judge the lovely ladies in the pageant on swimsuit, evening gown and of course the personal interview portion. These four hold the fate of who is crowned Miss USA in their hands and I gotta say I don?t have much confidence in these guys. However that doesn?t necessarily mean they will suck but we can all find out just how well Rob, Joe, Ali and George do as judges on June 3rd in Las Vegas on NBC of course. The stuff I?m currently taking is called Bioxsine Forte and like I said above, it?s made from 100 per cent natural herbal ingredients and comes in both shampoo and spray form.

I was delighted that it was a shampoo/spray set up and not an oral tablet, plus I?m glad that it?s 100 per cent natural, as I didn?t want to put a bucket load of weird chemicals on my head.

The only thing you?ll find in this stuff, according to the back of the bottle, is flavonoids, unsaturated fatty acids, beta-sitosterol, zinc, vitamins and minerals such as zinc, magnesium, potassium, calcium and iron. So there?s no eye of toad or high-octane petrol to worry about.

There was actually one thing that I was a little worried about before I used the Bioxsine shampoo, that being the smell of it. Usually, if something is ?100 per cent natural? it smells like 100 per cent horse sh*t, mainly because it?s not loaded with perfumes and other sweet smelling additives.

However, in fairness to the Bioxsine shampoo, it doesn?t smell bad at all. There?s certainly a distinct ?husk? if you will, but that?s something you get used to after a minute. Even the girlfriend didn?t mind the smell, which is always a plus.

The colour of the both the shampoo and the spray is a certain shade of brown ? no prizes for guessing which one ? but again, that?s thanks to 100 per cent natural ingredients and no dye of any kind.

The one thing I?m certainly not expecting from this is an outright miracle. If one or two new hairs decide to grow or if my existing hair gets a bit thicker then I?ll be happy, but I?m not expecting to look like Homer after he used Dimoxinil ? although, I won?t complain if it happens.

All that?s left for me to do now is to wash my hair every day with the Bioxsine shampoo and apply the spray in the morning and at night. It will be interesting to see what happens, but like I said, I?m not expecting a miracle.
